The Nightingale Triangle is the area between Nightingale Lane and Balham High Street. It is a property hotspot for young families, with a mixture of beautiful Victorian cottages and larger terraced houses. The house prices in this area are competitive, due to the proximity to the heralded Henry Cavendish Primary School.
Mainly a residential area, the streets are quiet and not too close to the lively pubs and bars in Clapham South. The area is home to Du Cane Court, a local landmark. It is thought to be one of the largest blocks of flats in Europe, housing 676 flats. Built in 1937 and designed in the Art Deco style, it escaped bombing in the Second World War. It was a popular residence of many music hall stars in the 1930’s and 1940’s, with the top floor converted into a social and arts club.
Local tube station Balham is on the Northern Line and trains to Victoria Station take just 15 minutes. It is easy to change, or walk, to Clapham South to get into other parts of London. The area is also well connected by buses.
