Sitting either side of The River Brent, Hanwell is another West London village that those in the know consider one of the capital’s most exciting and intriguing neighbourhoods. Sitting next to West Ealing, and with its own stop on the Elizabeth Line, you’re literally minutes away from Central London (and just 11 minutes from Heathrow!), yet you can go home to quaint lockside pubs and a range of beautiful Victorian cottages.

Because while Hanwell may lack some of the sweeping multi-bedroom houses of Ealing, it has some beautiful and peaceful tree lined streets with highly desirable family homes and flats. And there are also tasteful new builds in the form of Hanwell Square.

And Hanwell is truly refreshing, with thousands of acres of green space and nearby golf courses, including Brent Lodge Park with its kid friendly hedge maze, and Hanwell Zoo, where families can enjoy the wildlife in the petting zoo. Cyclists and runners have ample space to exercise their passions along the side of the canal.

Like Ealing – and so many parts of London that boast a true identity – Hanwell has its own passionate community of locals, with events happening throughout the year, including Hanwell carnival, which is believed to be London’s oldest.
