Like a cooler, less stuffy Highgate, Finchley is a brilliant area of the capital with plenty of personality, wonderful properties, great places to eat and great transport links whether you’re heading to central London or leaving the capital.

The area has a strong history of creativity, boasting former residents as diverse as Spike Milligan and Charles Darwin. And a creative crowd is still attracted to the area, along with young families, professionals who rent and buy. 

Property in Finchley is diverse, with a range of architectural styles, from the grand houses of Hampstead Garden Suburb to more modest terraces in West Finchley.
While East Finchley has polar opposites like the multi-million pound mansions of the Bishop’s Avenue which sit close to the tower blocks of Prospect Ring.

Central Finchley is flush with big Victorian and Edwardian homes, while West Finchley boasts some lovely properties from the 1920s and 1930s. Up in North Finchley, there’s a similarly diverse range of properties from period terraces to new build apartments, with the added bonus of easy access to the North circular, and the Great North Leisure Park, which will keep you busy at the weekend if you don’t fancy heading into central London.

All of Finchley is filled with great pubs, restaurants and cafes. The Old White Lion and Bald Faced Stag are great for a pint after a big walk on nearby Hampstead Heath.
